Healthy chocolate milkshake (dairy free)

Healthy chocolate milkshake (dairy free)

If you love smoothies but want something that is a little lighter in texture, this chocolate milkshake is your go-to.

This recipe uses the home-made almond milk we shared recently, and combines other wholesome ingredients including cacao, banana and almond butter.

The result is a velvety, chocolate drink that has a natural sweetness and offers a great way to get your antioxidants in.

This chocolate milkshake is not too rich, too sweet or too creamy – it’s just right.

Ingredients

1 cup almond milk (recipe for home-made almond milk here)

1 tablespoon cacao powder

½ frozen ripe banana

1 teaspoon almond butter

Pinch of vanilla powder

1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional, depending how sweet you want it)

½ teaspoon maca powder (optional)

Method

Place all ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend for about a minute, until well combined.

Serve in a glass and enjoy.

Makes 1 serve.
