Experience the ultimate tour of Bali for lovers of interiors with Nomad Nesting

Those who want to combine travel with the search for unique interiors and homewares should look no further than Nomad Nesting.
Led by owner Lorena Crisante Fazio, Nomad Nesting offers intimate tours to Bali that help travellers find interesting furnishings for their home.
Lorena likes to think of it as “travel with a purpose” – guests get to enjoy the culture and atmosphere of a new environment while using the time away to intentionally search for beautiful interiors, furniture and art.
The week-long tour is led by Lorena herself and she limits numbers to a small group, ensuring the trip offers a personalised experience.
“I really wanted to make the tour quite intimate. It means I can tailor the trip to people’s needs,” Lorena said.
“If someone is on the hunt for something specific, such as a terrazzo bath, I can fit in taking them to places that cater to their needs.
“Some guests come along to furnish entire homes while others are simply looking for a trip away, where everything is taken care of.”
One of the most appealing aspects of this tour is the fact that it is all-inclusive, said Lorena.
While guests need to arrange their own flights to and from Bali, everything within the tour package is covered including airport transfers, resort accommodation, breakfasts and dinners, and private drivers.
Guests are given SIM cards so they can stay connected with their host and travel companions at all times, in case anyone gets distracted while shopping.
“The tour is great for those who are interested in travelling in a group and meeting new people,” Lorena said.
“I had one woman come along, on a previous trip, who wasn’t that interested in interiors but she didn’t want to travel alone. She loved the itinerary and the chance to meet other women.”

The idea for a tour with a difference came to Lorena when she undertook a project in 2015 to furnish her new home in Sydney.
She spent most of the year researching suppliers and planning logistics, before taking a solo trip to Bali and embarking on a hunt for homewares.
“A lot of people took an interest in what I’d done but said they didn’t have the time or resources to take on something similar themselves. I’ve learned an enormous amount about sourcing quality products, freight and shipping, and I realised that I could harness all that knowledge and time I’d spent to put into building a business,” Lorena said.
“I’m bringing value to people in that I can share my learnings with them and save them the time and the hassle of having to work it all out for themselves.”
Lorena works with trusted partners and agents in Bali and can arrange products to be shipped to Australia, whether it’s an entire container or single items.
Aside from having a personal love for Bali, Lorena chose the location for her tour because the place gives her guests access to unique, well-crafted homewares.
“The combination of great craftsmanship and access to wonderful natural resources, like wood and stone, makes for magical products. I’m always astounded by the items we found over there,” she said.
